Following the unexpected outcome of the recent referendum on whether or not Britain should remain in the European Union, resulting in the ‘Brexit’ or Britain’s departure from the EU, British citizens have been rushing to look for homes in Spain.

A large number of agents are reporting that they have registered a significant increase in enquiries from clients in the United Kingdom who are contemplating the option of moving to Spain following the decision of the United Kingdom to leave the European Union.

A report published last week in the United Kingdom states that the number of British citizens who want to leave the country has increased by 30%, and that Spain is the third destination of interest among the British, after Australia and Canada. Another study by the London School of Economics indicates that about 10% of young people between the ages of 18 and 25 who voted to stay in the EU are currently considering the possibility of moving to another country.
